I think you can always tell when it's UK versus Detroit. Detroit artists put the general Michigan style on it better. A few exceptions being someone like Stefan Robbers, and he's Dutch. Even Luke Slater you can tell is British.

I've got a UR t shirt and a Godflesh hoodie. I like the former better than the latter, but mostly bought for aesthetic purposes more than being obsessed. I do have a Twin Peaks t shirt and some other memorabilia like The Final Dossier and Secret Diary books.

The older I get the better Techno gets. Most of the best sounds there from the best of dnb but sounds more original.

I'm guilty of lauding detroit and chicago (to a lesser extent new york) because it's easy to identify as a style. It's like tagging a city, a city symphony, where there's an identifiable strand to latch onto. I guess other city scenes are less documented so I'm missing out.
