Seems like they're getting alot of love on here at the moment so I thought I'd reprise Gumdrops post
I dunno bout you, but I haven't listened to anything lese since I heard this, it's just one of the best sets I've heard in ages, the Generals seem to have really ramped it up.

Watched 'Shottaz' last night and just thought, god, there's been so much digital dancehall - post 'Sleng Teng' - come out, what are people's favourites? Is there an all-time top 100 dancehall tunes list?
and the lyrics

In both the video and the lyrics, I get a whiff of 'oh these drums are so tribal' from Bjork, which is a bit fetishistic I think. But it's not like Young Buck hasn't done the same thing in his video.

Apparently these edits ( y'know, where they put a 'boink' sound over the rude word ) have several categories :
Blanking; when the volume is set to zero for all or part of the word.
Bleeping; playing a noise, usually a "beep", over all or part of the word.
Resampling; using a like-sounding...
....so I did get an invite to the Gilbert and George opening, without trying or asking, which was nice. The exhibition is great, it's a whole floor. I was kinda hoping that they would have transformed the Turbine Hall with all their work - y'know, proper stained glass style - and there wouldn't...
Patricide - The Misanthropomorphism Sessions Demo Two; this one sounds much better I think.

Peacemaker is in Brutal Truth, and un played with Godflesh and the like, so it'll be pretty unrelenting metalnoise, my set is a little, well, no, much funkier, 3D noisegrime stuff, y'know, new music.

Good stuff.
What do Dissensians think of them?
I'm just going through their earlier stuff now critically as opposed to hearing it, erm, uncritically, and kinda think some of it is totally briliant, but don't know much about them really.
All this week I've had a verse from Ruff Sqwad's 'Oochie wallie' freestyle -
"I'll get it poppin yeah
Poppin at you

That will surely burn you
Look! But when you look
There'll be a gun in your view
I'm a clappy nigga on the loose ready to shoot
Oi!"
in my head...

I've been listening to alot of music that sounds rough at the moment - specifically the Wu Tang Clan's demo tapes, DMX's 'Unleashed and Unreleased', stuff that sounds like it's been recorded at the bottom of a swimming pool, and it reminded me of how much I like mistakes in sound, not glitches...
