Seen Spinn last night in Sheffield, absolutely smashed it
I was speaking to Spinn outside and I got totally tongue tied and couldn't speak, :) good times
I'm just speaking from my own DJ'ing experience in Newcastle.
The reference I gave was to a night I played last week and all the Dubstep guys who used to call me bandwagon for playing Funky were all congratulating themselves on playing 'Funky', which was actually just post-dubstep, as soon I...
I find that whenever I play post-funky stuff, loads of guys come up and stare at the record and ask where the track's released etc. and whenever I play a Funky track all the girls start getting down and bubblin, says it all for me tbh
Obviously the best 'bad later album' is Celtic Frost-Cold Lake
Really pissed me off to hear Tom G calling this album a mistake just so he could promote his newer album to the 'real' metal fans, lost respect for him for that. Cold Lake is one of my favourite albums of all time, love it
for the scene round my ends, (makina, hardcore) the ultimate goal is to get views on a youtube channel. Not record sales. None of the kids buy music anymore, but they see local guys spitting on youtube as the ultimate in succeeding in life and massively famous. Power to the people
ah your Inbox is full
that's the article though. Thanks very much.
My memory is shocking, how I could get Trim mixed up with Dizzee is beyond me, I think I may have read something the same time dissecting Dizzee lyrics on Wiley/Napa.
Thanks though, that's a great help

I'm looking for an old article by Blackdown (I think) which discussed the view that Grime emcee'ing culture is increasing the range of the English language rather than having a detrimental effect on Queen's English.
I don't suppose anyone can remember such an article/know where it exists?
Anyone know anything about the Sheffield date of the Spinn tour? Quick search says a night called 'Blitz'n'pieces' at the Harley?
Think I'm travelling for this because I have a friend who lives in Sheffield
I clicked the link and had a little listen and the tracks awesome. I'll definitely buy that track, I'd passed over any promo for this track before now
jus sayin
llluuussshh tune big up
It doesn't surprise me that Diplo is taking Juke influences
As regards the Spinn Available dates, that makes me very tempted to try and put something together, would be amazing to get a date in Newcastle
