    sade

she also had a genteel charm that i thought was rare for a performing artist, the opposite of this aggressive madonna-type femininity. if you see her expression in smooth operator it is a kind of shyness or reservation, really conservative in a way. the music is probably not very good but it was...

    chicago house nowadays

robert owens is a god and this is my sole exposure to jarvis but i think we can agree this is a killer, killer track, really moody and special. the voice has a lot to do with it but the synths and little organ bits are what make it for me. projekt pm's when the voices come is a also gem and has...

    chicago house nowadays

the version on this compilation is the only one i could find with the extended synthless suspense where the synths rise in volume slowly, punctuated at the end by drums before the beat comes again and brings the song to its end. the ending is so perfect the song has to be repeated over and over...

    Copenhagen

the public understands climate change even less than politicians, if that is possible. i'll trust a scientist a thousand times over the schizophrenic opinion of the public (mine included).

    Copenhagen

politicians are compromised and generally have no idea what they're talking about, especially when it comes to science. i can't wait for aliens to enslave the human population and destroy everything, we really are hopeless.

sometimes i like it, sometimes it sound boring

a lot of what is mentioned here is really specific, for a certain time music, some of it is purely functional. you can't expect it to be something it's not.

sometimes i like it, sometimes it sound boring

find moonbeams and you must believe in spring, not for every occasion (nothing is) but these are really beautiful and not boring.
