    After Shock recordings

I'm talking about Sonar then, the one on the blue 12". Which is Radar, was it released? I saw Sonar credited in a few playlists as Radar so assumed there was just some name confusion, didn't realize there was another tune.

    Thin White Duke

he also produced the INSANE (not because it's so good, tho it is cool) tune with Ce'Cile for that wall of sound comp. Basically a non-distorted gabba beat with ce'cile and another guy on it. Ridiculously fast, tense and wierd. Don't know if I would play it but it's pretty interesting.

GRIME- breaking news, gossip, slander, lies etc

I go back and forth on Syer. When I first heard him on radio with Wiley I liked him, he had some funny lines and good energy. But he may be one of these guys who don't translate that well on record. His bit at the end of Wiley's 'Your Not Real' is his best recorded bit. Not feeling that...

    Bay Area Rap

I agree that this year will be all about the bay, looks like they got next. That Hyphy shit is live, I'm feeling it definitely. They needed their own brand-name thing to get behind and hyphy is it. Lot of energy and creativity there and yeah, that DJ Shadow tune is bannanas. Would love to...

    J Dilla R.I.P. /(,0_o,)\

dilla was really really major. He really had that thing, that un-identifiable feeling in his music, the rhythms, the sounds, the vibes. Really beautiful important, soulful music. His death will really leave a hole in the current hiphop landscape. I really felt like I lost someone I knew when...

    Bruza

I think bruza deserves credit for being his own thing. I've listened to ODB for years and I don't think theres much to go on between the two. Pretty different vibe. I didn't like Bruze until I saw him live here in Berlin where I have to say he pretty much stole the show. 'Get Me' is hugely...

    After Shock recordings

and in any discussion of Terrah's recent output the riddim Radar (sometimes called Sonar) is one of my favorites. The 12 minute vocal version of it with about a billion different MCs on it that Cameo had a while back was pretty crazy. I think the new 12" (silver label) is DOK or someone...

DUBSTEP- breaking news, gossip, slander, lies etc

my girl sheen flipped out when she heard that amen skream tune, she djs dubstep, jungle and breakcore and loves cutup amen. I thinks it's funny because it's like full circle 10 years back to jungle but at 140bpm. Still has that halfstepping slow feel though which is interesting.

The End, End User, wicked mash-ups

good breakcore: enduser, aaron spectre, drop the lime (maybe not even breakcore anymore, but dope, see above). I like that Enduser bollywood tune a lot and in general he's doing it pretty well. Aaron Spectre is here in Berlin and doing raggacore jungle breakcore whatever, also really well...

DUBSTEP- breaking news, gossip, slander, lies etc

gonna just switch up my style today and do some agreeing. re: fuck the french. Yes I agree, their underwater nuclear testing out there was definitely very very fucked up. And although I previously argued about putting up fences the French government actually did an interesting thing in this...

Music that's popular in the Middle East

Great thread! Hopefully I'll have something meaningful and up to the time to add when my friend gets back from Iran soon. This has reminded me to pump him for info, maybe I'll just send him the thread and see if he'd like to contribute.

DUBSTEP- breaking news, gossip, slander, lies etc

hahahahah, go on hell_sd, fair enough. I gotta go do radio right now, everyone lock in www.wnyu.org 10:30-1AM NYC time (how's that for self promo) but I'll come back and lock horns about all this culture clash thing later on. Haven't heard your music yet, maybe I'll have to check it out still...

DUBSTEP- breaking news, gossip, slander, lies etc

Intelli-grime? Run go suck your mum. All that intelli shit is limp dicked, elitist, stimulate your mind not your feet coffee table rubbish. Don't insult Dubstep with that shit. Look how far Intelligent Dance Music went once it crystallized under that banner. Right up its own ass to die. As...

next grime mc to get a deal?

Another great success story is that of people like Chamillionaire and Slim Thug, out of Houston, TX. Slim's LP is titled 'Already Platinum' because he ground it out so hard and sold so many units locally himself that he already had money when the labels came calling. Same with Chamillionaire...

roll deep & lethal b at fabric vs. straight outta bethnal at 333

Chronik brings a lot of energy to a set and while I didn't like him when I first heard him his bars have grown on me a lot. ie: Come to your ends and find a man/stick a man to a wall like spider man... Take for example also the recent Roll Deep set where he Jam, Ears and Knuckles showed up...

that does sound kind of interesting still. The thing that bugged me out was this: http://www.ukrecordshop.com/shop/catalog/100_Grime_Instrumentals__EXCLUSIVE_p_17824.html grime rhythms in bulk... For the CD DJs could be quite cool.

Breezeblock Dubstep Warz on Radio 1

re: the lack of 12" outlets for dubstep material I have a label called Shadetek Records with access to very high standard cutting and mastering facilities. We cut and master at Dubplates and Mastering in Berlin with Rashad, who is a serious engineer. D&M is the former studio of Rhythm & Sound...

Can anyone tell me who produced Signs Of Life on Kano's LP? I don't have the LP, just heard a bit of that tune on Logan's block party mix. That beat is bannanas tho and I actually really like Kane's singing there. Didn't really like too many of the other LP cuts so I ignored it but that one...
