    Beer And Beer Drinking

The aim is not to disturb the sediment as it tastes bad, hence why you store bottles upright, don't shake them about, pour slowly down the side of the glass, leave the last centimetre in the bottle and leave your pint to settle for a few minutes. To my mind Brewdog beers taste choc a block full...

    Beer And Beer Drinking

I've done plenty of kit beers- it's the beer version of making orange squash, albeit 100 times more labour intensive. Most have turned out pretty bad. There's a fine line between leaving it long enough (or at a high enough temperature) to achieve a decent carbonation... and leaving it too long...

    Vinyl dying (for DJ's)

A flaw with Numarks is that the crossfader develops a problem after a while. It can be relieved by spraying switch cleaner into it now and again, but not cured outright. If you were scratching it would be a major issue.

    Vinyl dying (for DJ's)

Feeling the spooky mixes. LP's maybe, but is that the case for new dance singles? Considering the smaller cities I'm familiar with Newcastle & Dublin only have one such shop each, Belfast (population 450,000ish) has none that sells them. It's just second hand stuff or new pricey mainstream...

    The Act of Killing (2012)

Yeah, given that bar the Chinese killings there was no ethic/tribal aspect to it you almost have to fall back on the 'the customs officials impounded our Hollywood cinema reels' excuse. Which is small beer obviously. Plus- maybe I'm wrong here- but I'd imagine that much more people were killed...

    The Act of Killing (2012)

Funny thing is it feels like a documentary about Anwar's movie about his experience in the genocide- but as far as I know this is the film and the scenes orchestrated by the actual killers weren't released in a standalone feature. Would I be right in saying that the extra long directors cut...

    Cassette Swap Reboot

I've done a review of the tape that was sent to me but I seem to have lost the message where you say how to post it onto the Ferrite blog. Could you send me another PM John. I've got a photo of the tape as well so we can have a bit of fun trying to wrap IMG tags round Blogspots no doubt tricky...

The Alabama Blues sounding track is by one of the more prominent movers in Garage. Costs a fortune on vinyl nowadays. Check your PM Denoir

Now I think about it £15 postage seems about right given that it's too big for Royal Mail, at least they offer it for postage.

    wileys devils mixes

At the end of the day if this stuff is going on Discogs for twenty pounds plus then arguably there's a market for a limited vinyl repress, and there's definitely a market for putting this stuff onto the MP3/CD. I dread to think how much the old DMZ EPs are supposedly worth now, probably...

    wileys devils mixes

Yes but only if you are willing to spend over 30 euros. http://www.discogs.com/label/Wiley+Kat+Records My advice would be to confirm these records are in good condition before paying for them, some of these classic Grime twelves for sale are barely playable now. It's almost as if every deck...

    Cassette Swap Reboot

I bought this about eight years ago and it still works fine. And barring the excessive postage it's probably around £100 cheaper than the RRP back then. Marantz is a good make...

Comin in with the mix and blend

I assume for Cable you and the people you booked played mostly tunes on the Butterz label or tunes that would fit into that aesthetic? That probably leads to more varied sets than those played by the more laptop focused producers, and I daresay your DJ's weren't playing similar/ the same sets...

Comin in with the mix and blend

As for the whole retromania thing that was talked about in the If New York can die thread- and continuing what Sectionfive sort of said- London is not always a good example for pushing things forward. People like Ratpack or whoever are still making a career off old skool nights, the amount of...
