    Teaching

Doers anyone here have either direct experience or know of someone who went through the Graduate teacher programme? I think this is the only option for me but it does require previous experience in schools, of which I currently have none. I'm organising voluntary work at the moment but have no...

    Software you love

I miss foobar the most now I'm on mac. Badly needs a conversion.

    Software you love

http://www.vray.com/vray_for_maya/ When you are up to the level of Vray and Mental Ray there is nothing between them, Both are as high end as you could realistically go when it comes to rendering software. The only real limitation is the skill of the user. If you have one and have learnt how to...

Where were you when vinyl died?

I only ever dabbled in vinyl, although my dabbling was probably on the same scale as some casual vinyl collectors - a few crates worth anyway. It died for me when I filled my one bedroom flat with records and CDs, with no room for anything else. The vinyl goes, and as I slowly ripped my...

    ADSL filters

You can get 'active' filters which are meant to be much better at cutting out the noise, the cheapo ones you get from your ISP are passive. No idea if they would last any longer?

what sort of an internet user are you? (web behaviour test)

Web Leopard. Rarr. It is spot on. Solitary and shit at multitasking. And breath that smells of dead meat.

    Walking in the city

I adore walking through London, as a proper country person who has to contend with The Bugs home town of Weymouth, with all of its three streets - I find the size of it endlessly fascinating. I keep promising myself that when I have a bit of spare cash and time I'll just book myself into some...

    how to be british

Finally, someone else who understands my pain. I was addicted to the original version; oaty, choccy goodness. Now it is some kind of sugary pap the like of which you would find in a Kellogs box.

If you wanted sex with bigdog because of that video, this one will push you over the edge.

    Software you love

I love VRay - a render engine for use with most 3D apps. I like 3D modelling but I love only VRay with its simulation of light down to the ISO and F-Stop settings of your virtual camera, and physical sky.

    Dubstep

Grabbed two old Surgeon releases on Dynamic Tension at £1 each. 8 tracks for nothing. Bargain.

    AIDS: conspiracy or reality?

If my illness warranted a bone [marrow] transplant according to the medical establishment, I really don't think I would be contemplating a few needles in my face. In fact I don't think the people who stick needles in other peoples faces for a living would be seriously considering it as a viable...

    AIDS: conspiracy or reality?

When it comes to alternative healing, Homeopathy has gained massive ground in the UK. That doesn't stop it being total utter bollocks. There is always money to be made in any form of healing. Moving away from scientific bias as you put it just dumps you into realm of other people all willing to...

    AIDS: conspiracy or reality?

Due to continued research, not because it is some conspiracy to mislead? The virus not being exactly what we first thought isn't in the same realm as the virus being a work of fiction to support a drug industry.

    Jeff Mills

I thinking being OCD is just another symptom of a man who is clearly very switched on and deeply obsessed with his chosen discipline. Perhaps if Jeff didn't compulsively twitch over the finest EQ setting several times in the space of a breath, he wouldn't be such a legend.

    Jeff Mills

I have a lot of respect for his legacy, and more importantly really liked the direction he went in with One Man Spaceship and Contact Special. Probably because like you I tend to find myself in a darkened room with headphones, and it suits this. Not seen the Bells DVD but I liked Exhibitionist...

    death of the underground

Shrinking of the mainstream is the bigger change here. The base of the long tail gets flatter as the internet creates endless sub-sub-cultures. Like the 2nd reply to Reynolds post, I can't really see what point he is making here, seems to me he is stating the bloody obvious rather than a...

    Where have the UFOs gone?

Took me feckin ages to align the vray render with the camera jiggle.
