i don't really follow the scene, so i've only heard of the 'famous' djs/artists eg. dj technics, dj rod lee, dukeyman. i've got a short mix i'll upload at some point if you want.

baltimore breaks sounds like ghetto tech played at -2. the genre is completely redundant once you've heard ghetto tech.

dj nephets is good for the 4/4 stuff. dj nasty is very hit and miss. steer well clear of the german and belgian guys trying to do ghetto tech. none of the records are that good. 90% of the records are just useful dj tools.

i'd say the majority of dubstep producers are black. not that it really matters.

not entirely sure what you're saying, but how would describe grime? i.e. what defines the scene? i don't see how lady sovereign fits in to the grime scene at all. i.e. she has nothing to do with the grime scene. The point i'm making is that every song with an english MC on isn't called grime...

You make it appear that she has been trying to get onto the pirates, but she is being pushed out because she is white. Lady Sovereign was discovered on a documentary. She's just a very lucky girl who can MC quite competently. If she hadn't been discovered, there's no way she'd ever have anything...

At FWD, it isn't just all digital mystikz and loefah. The night's much more focused on the production side rather than vocal stuff. Plasticman (from the sets i've witnessed) plays the harsher side of "dubstep" (eg. toasty - the knowledge) and lots of instrumental grime.
