    Dubstep

I admit I'm enough out of the loop that halfstep dnb seems relatively new to me, but I'd still guess that dubstep played a big part in people like Breakage, etc picking it up. at this point I'd say it's as much dubstep as Joy Orbison and all the post-sub-future-garage genres... tho I'm curious...

don't forget heavy as stone.... amazing tune that. funny thing about the 'new dnb sound' ie. Dbridge and Instra:mental.. when dubstep was creeping westward in 2006 the dnb hedz called it 'slowed down dnb', 'too slow' etc ... and now drum n bass is little else than sped up dubstep.

you didn't go to CalArts by any chance, did you? all this amazing music and more came from the school radio station, KCIA, which I managed for a few years. when I have a chance I'll list some of the other gems that I was able to ID before posting here. sadly, it's unlikely that the station's...

I tend to process music as being listenable, not-listenable, or exciting. to my ears the american stuff can be enjoyable, but it's not so much ahead of the pack. actually as I say that I've just remembered Falty DL! he's defo the most singular stateside producer that comes to mind. what d'ya...
