    Medicalisation

yeah, I push back against this a lot, sometimes on Twitter. Even crotchety old Freud was aware of this, and called it "gain of illness": now you have a new identity you can enjoy. what would you be without "your depression"? nothing, I guess. this one is a new one for me, but i like it slightly...

I can't blame spendy for seeking his Romantic experience of nature and whatever while he can... he'll be back I actually listen to this stuff all the time and really enjoy it, but I see why it's hateable. I feel the same way about nu metal. Love that garbage music.

    The Big Hello Thread

i did feel instantly at home, like a little british boy look, as a student of philosophy i believe you're allowed to hate something even if you're interested in learning about it. maybe all the more reason to explore it! which is why i ofc did my time hanging out with the worst racists...

    The Big Hello Thread

I hate doing intros but yknow what why not. Spendy dragged me here, kicking and screaming, after we spent years arguing past each other on Reddit about "What Is Authenticity Really?" and "Utilitarianism: Good Or Dumb?" I live in Brooklyn, I work in crypto, I have an audiophilia problem, and I...

    CITY POP (70s-80s Japanese Pop)

i see you deleted the link to the essay but my only comment about it was the time i saw Mac DeMarco in 2014 in San Francisco and a fan stole one of his shoes when he was crowdsurfing and wouldn't give it back even though everyone on stage appeared visibly mad. only time i've ever seen a concert...

SMOOTH JAZZ with the "sickest, most insane sonics"

I use this one to test my speakers. Gotta make sure you can catch those dissonant DX7 harmonics all the way up through 20+kHz. Not like any of you can hear that high anymore... At least you can still appreciate Dave Koz on the EWI.
