    The sacred cows

If there's any current comedian undeserving of sacred cow status, it's Frankie Boyle. Sure, he's funny but he has to be the worst for regurgitating material. Between the Apollo show, Mock The Week, & his own stand up gigs, he has about half an hour of original material. The rest is just the same...

    The sacred cows

Re: Charlie Brooker, I enjoy his column from time to time, but don't bother with any of his TV pursuits as he just comes across as an utter bellend at pains to express his dislike or hate for something. Of course he does come out with some constructive stuff every now and then, but I'm not keen...

    Hip Hop 09?

Still, it would be a complete bump if it didn't go all Wu-nostalgic and return to the original Cuban Linx-y sound. I hate when artists cash in on previously successful releases by releasing sequels (looking at you, Jay Z), or successful monikers (looking at you, Gerald Donald) without providing...

Hip-Hop References that fly over your Head

I'm probably a bit younger than yourself though, and always took it at face value because it was well past the period where trios were all the rage and all this mystical power of 3 etc business was going on. Maybe it was all a precursor to Jay Z & Nas's masonic conspiracy? :D

Hip-Hop References that fly over your Head

Works pretty perfectly for having a verse each on every song too, anda lot more variation in order & chemistry than a simple duo would provide. The one that always sticks in my head is Charizma rhyming about asking mom dukes for loot :)

    Creative Genius at Walkers

I've spied Seabrooks in Glasgow before, but they're not a regular by any means. On the chilli & lemon tip mentioned upthread, these are my current favourite & have been for a few years now: They are bloody great, fairly spicy with proper flavouring all over the buggers. A good bit left over...

    Clothes

I think you underestimate the Scottish winter ;) I'd like a nice down jacket but they're quite expensive and as you say, not so handy in the rain. I'd go for one of the Idiom numbers if I had £350 to spare, but sadly that's not the case. Anyhoo, if you can point me in the direction of the style...

    Clothes

Hmmmm. I'm not really crazy about the duffle/peacoat look, and much prefer a lighter jacket. Are sub £200 tech jackets pretty much a waste of time?

    Clothes

Anyone got any good recommendations for winter jackets? After a new warm waterproof to get me through another hellish Glasgow winter. Something of the North Face-ish variety, up to about £200 that'll look good on a small frame.

[GLA] Upcoming Nights and Other Events, Rolling Thread

Lost the enjoyment factor for me when he started rinsing out too many midrange wobblers and it turned in to a bit of a mosh pit. The brainless bar staff didn't help matters either, the staff in there just can't cope with a busy night. Not only did they run out of 'cheap' vodka and start charging...
