Damn you, Tea. Yup, that's the one. They did a TV version and it was shit.

    George Melly dead

My favourite Melly story is where he told Mick Jagger to his face that he was looking a little wrinkly, and Jagger said something like "laughter lines, dear boy" and Melly said "nothing's that funny!"

Why do people pat the guide dog but edge away from the blind man?

My mate, a nervous, awkward youth, was patting a guide dog on a train once. Suddenly its owner realized he was at his stop and hurriedly rose to exit the train, whereupon my mate got caught up somehow in the dog's straps. Rather than try and communicate his predicament, he allowed himself to be...

So, Julian Cope is going to publish this new book called “Japrocksampler” and…

Just his wife and drugs actually, from memory.

    WOEBOT.tv

I liked the record-geek aspect of it so much that the colour filters annoyed me because I couldn't see which Blurt record etc. Have loved all these films, even when at odds with Woebot's tastes etc. There should be more stuff like this!

    Favourite dancehall / ragga tunes

Just laughed quite loudly into the microphone I happened to be holding. Mind you, anyone here familiar with the works of Carlton Killawatt Valley?

    JB Simbleton / Quincy Bones

Can't help, but I know the one. I had a cassette demo of theirs a while ago knocking around. Think I may have binned it...:o

    Public Image Limited - Album

I loved it at the time but I haven't gone back to it much. Remember liking FFF and Ease (is that right?) a lot, but I imagine the big 80s drums would piss me off now. Fuck it, I have got it, I'll go and put it on. I DJ Rise sometimes and it's definitely one of those records that people come up...

what does TV say to you

We've had the TV off in our house for a few months now (Christmas crept up on us, I can tell you) but the other day my son's video ended and Gillian McKeith popped up. She had some woman on her doorstep, due to be detoxified, and the first thing she did was to shriek at her to remove her shoes...

    Albums/artists you just DON'T GET.

Yup, really not feeling Burial. Another Skream-fixated dubstep lightweight here.

    Gong

That New York Gong album is Daevid Allen with Material, as I understand it, and some of it is pretty good. Also the Divided Alien Playbax spinoff thing has some good stuff on it too. And Daevid Allen's work with Kramer is alright too.

    Gong

Yup. It's got half of Gong on it anyway. And some cool riffs, man.

    Gong

There will always be a part of me that loves Gong, but I think it might be the bit that's still tripping... and I own a Flying Teapot badge that Daevid Allen once wore. But I have tried to play their records to people and searched hard for the bit that sounded so good in the past. And I think...
