Last nights’ show with Mart Atkins guesting with a tidy selection of tracks - many from his MRM label (et al). Lots of other storming’ tunes on the show including by Westside Gunn, Boulders James, Injury Reserve, Alkaline, Tizrah, Ike Yard and R&L Thompson.

Ipswich- Photek / Extreme Noise Terror
Northampton - Bauhaus, Slow Thai
Canterbury had a moment in the late 60s/early - Soft Machine, Hatfield & the North, Caravan - and also Ultramarine
Brighton - obviously has Joe Muggs and that would be enough but also...
there's alot of solo stuff that seemingly trashes what we thought they brought to a collective - like Frank Black and the Pixies - but i guess i'm veering into other topics
That's a good way of putting it and speaks to wider point - all these artists getting frustrated that their improved technical skills are leading to diminishing results
Maybe you're right - I could think of anything to rebut yer claim - but I've at least i've sought out his recent stuff and it's felt on the right side of ok
There seem to be quite a few who fit into another category of, however hard they try - somehow don't seem to sully their legacy (despite mediocre album after mediocre album)
Prince, Bowie etc
The playback of last night show - with a Blue Tapes guest mix comprising some of the label’s current releases and also a little interview (starts around 44min). I also played some amapiano, 90s rap, Brooklyn drill, jungle , Tim Buckley and Sweet Exorcist (RIP RHK)
