I feel like running for Mayor, just to stop this lunatic.

    The magic island

I've been visiting a magic island since July last year. Don't bother trying to find it - the waters are heavily mined, 60 nautical miles out. A place of beauty - of lush green grass and sapphire orchids, the air thick with meaty saline goodness - but also of danger - home to 6-foot megabats that...

    The magic island

I never understood why Prospero kept Caliban around. Ariel had the power to whip up storms and wreck ships, so he could have easily fetched the firewood. Bonus being that Ariel didn't want to kill Prospero and rape his teenage daughter. Think the biggest missed opportunity in cinematic history...

No, but I still kick myself about not putting a few thousand, instead of a tenner, on Red Marauder back in the day.

We've Got A Fuzzbox And We're Gonna Use It

Dunno, just got one 12" with Rules & Regulations on it...didn't even know they recorded anything else. Rubella Ballet was an obvious influence. Think The Gymslips had that vibe too when they were singing 2-minutes songs about pie and mash, before an ill-advised attempt to go 'serious goth'.

We've Got A Fuzzbox And We're Gonna Use It

Spend three hours doing your hair; half-hour set in the back of a pub; drunk zine writer carried out by St John's Ambulance after tripping and glassing himself; promoter disappears back to Bedsitland with the loot; late night band meeting in Wimpy, except for the bass player who had to get up...

    Wuhan Killer Sneeze (thanks Tea)

Got vaxxed up on Sunday morning. Thought "FFS..." when I saw the queue, but it went through quickly, took about five minutes. Choice of Astra Zeneca or Astra Zeneca, or shout at security demanding the Pfizer jab (yes, someone did this). Apocalyptic movie feel heightened by being in a covered car...

LOL, I'm up there with Priti Patel and Trump now. Whatever, carry on.

    Election 2020

Well, going back to Pattycakes' earlier posts, I'm pro-death penalty. Spent decades wrestling with this, but AFAIC, if someone rapes a kid or breaks into a pensioner's flat and stabs them repeatedly in the head, and they get sentenced to death...cool  Hardly a fucking loss to humanity.

    A Passion For Denmark.

Terrible place. Hans Christian Andersen was their best writer - and he used to dress up as a goose and then masturbate in front of call girls. Disgusting! A very expensive place to live: a beer's like £9, if I remember right, and tastes like drain cleaner. They have some weird social code...

    Fred & Judy Vermorel

Seconded, a great read. Won't go into the main subject and how he covers it, because it's pretty complex (and spooky at times) (and, I reckon, the most heart on sleeve thing of his I've read so far ) - you should read it yourself, no spoilers. But I especially enjoyed the 'part 3' section...

    How have you changed?

I've become more antisocial, I think. Someone recently told me: when this is all over, the parties are going to be MENTAL...a month-long boozing, vomiting and dogging fest!...and I thought, "Fuck that...I ain't going ANYWHERE near people...the poxy scum...!" Went off my head a few times - have...

Slav To The Rhythm: Eastern and Central European cold wave, space disco, post-punk

I know you're not asking me but, yep, it happened, I was there. I went after nearly eight hours of drinking in a pub in Portslade with an old friend I hadn't seen since 1997, so was completely trashed, but it attracted a crazed crowd doing aerobics on the dancefloor. I also went to the second...

    Emasculation of the Western Man

This has led to a lot of massages for her and very little oral sex for me! I think this is positive, but I have not managed to find a balance or find a space where I am also able to express what I want and have my needs met. Bet you £50 he does roll-eye emojis and bangs on about 'privilege' and...
