Thats exactly what I was getting at - where are the young girls (Black & white) who listen to funky? they havent picked up on it yet - I think its has something to with bass & 'bump' Garage had it best - b-lines & dark tones for the rudeboys but with a swing/funk & soul for the girls it...

    Funky/London/UK House

yh I'm not sayng I want to to hear funky in Sainsburys but a certain amount of success and audience beyond its current status would help the scene - wheer you draw the line is another discussion just trying to understand why it hasnt grabbed as many ears - esp girls ears

    Funky/London/UK House

Funky doesnt seemed to have moved out into suburbia properly has it? Do you think that it has to do with the lack of bass? ( I say this in very broad stokes - I know there are subby funky tunes) but in general - when you look at drum & bass, garage & dubstep which grew into sounds that were...

questions you are dying to ask but are too scared to b/c of music nerd cred?

yh it can be done - I'v always thought of it as mixing in the 1st drop of a record with the 2nd or 3rd drop of another (unless you have a super long intro and can drop both 1st drops at the same time) it has to be tightly in time and eq'd nice or it does sound too muddy/boombastic

SICK - really feeling Zomby at the moment, the more I read about him, the more I like him (even with the neg stuff, somehow more appealing?:slanted:) I got his remix of The Brown Acid - sounds great in the mix, full hardcore vibes this Jamie XX mix for Benji B is also really good

    Great 2 Step?

I saw him play at Fabric in Nov and it was so good - loads of energy and heavy heavy subs, it reminded me of Randall in late 90's - serious assault on your ears, dope
