what are you listening to at the moment?

Three Imaginary Boys :) . I liked Seventeen Seconds and Faith as well, but the first one has a particular charm to it, I think, and it's not much like anything else they ever did.

what are you listening to at the moment?

The Cure - A Forest (12:33 extended mix) and when it finishes I'll probably play it again – it just goes round and round and round :)

Jordan Peterson thinks it makes sense to compare humans with lobsters

I wouldn't be entirely surprised if it all turned out to be a massive philosophical experiment, to see how much inane bullshit he can trot out that people will still lap up. Fair play to him in that case. But from all accounts – i.e. by people who have known him for a long time – he really is...

    what are you reading now?

Just finished Tracey Thorn's Bedsit Disco Queen. Entertaining stuff. And inadvertently interesting (to me) that the music she particularly liked way back when was the music I particularly loathed... Vic Godard's lounge version of Subway Sect. Scritti Politti, after Green had kicked out the rest...

But he's still sticking his stupid oar in every chance he gets. The media collectively needs to get the fuck over Blair.

Labour has been doing exactly what was decided collectively at conference, which includes the possibility of supporting a second referendum. But that has no chance of passing in a Commons vote until every other option has been explored, as the People's Vote campaign itself made clear the other...

Before Chuka can be consulted as a party leader, he needs to have a party to lead. And setting up TIG formally as a party would require them to reveal their donors which they don't want to do. But until then, fuck off Chuka, you arsewipe. I'd probably buy a Bercow poster though :)

    Sleaford Mods

No, Steve has closed Harbinger Sound down, at least for the moment. Clearly he's totally jacked off. As for the split: It seems Jason had later misgivings about leaving the Rough Trade infrastructure and blamed Steve for encouraging them to do it. You can understand his fears to an extent...

    Sleaford Mods

And consequently my opinion of the Mods has taken a big hit on hearing that they've sacked Steve as their manager. Fucking ingrates.

    Great Germaine Greer Documentary

I used to like her 20 years ago when she was on Late Review with Tony Parsons, Tom Paulin, et al. She was always good for a few trenchant remarks. Nowadays it's as if she feels she has to be the great controversialist, so she's become rather a tedious parody of herself.
