An explosive leak of tens of thousands of documents from the defunct data firm Cambridge Analytica is set to expose the inner workings of the company that collapsed after the Observer revealed it had misappropriated 87 million Facebook profiles.
More than 100,000 documents relating to work in 68 countries that will lay bare the global infrastructure of an operation used to manipulate voters on “an industrial scale” is set to be released over the next months.
The release of documents began on New Year’s Day on an anonymous Twitter account, @HindsightFiles, with links to material on elections in Malaysia, Kenya and Brazil. The documents were revealed to have come from Brittany Kaiser, an ex-Cambridge Analytica employee turned whistleblower, and to be the same ones subpoeaned by Robert Mueller’s investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.
https://www.theguardian.com/politic...n-urged-to-publish-report-on-russian-meddlingThe SNP’s leader at Westminster has written to Boris Johnson demanding that he take immediate steps to allow the suppressed report into Russia’s interference in the British political system to be published.
Ian Blackford, the leader of the third-largest party in the Commons, called on the prime minister to begin appointing members of parliament’s intelligence and security committee, necessary to allow the controversial document to be released.
“It is unacceptable that your government has repeatedly and intentionally failed to take steps to establish the committee and has sought to escape scrutiny on vital issues,” Blackford writes in a letter that has been shared with the Guardian.
“The public interest and the imperative is and has always been clear: lift your sanction on publishing this report and re-establish the intelligence and security committee so that it can be immediately published,” the SNP MP added.
Funnily enough, the bloke who wrote this article doesn't exist on Twitter. The link to his account leads nowhere. This is where it becomes insidious. After propagation of the meme, it then disappears and Twitter account removes itself, and the typosquatting websites disappear. While the researchers at Citizen Lab found several hundred accounts doing this work, the ephemeral nature of the accounts and their automated nature can allow us to infer that there were likely as many Mayfly bots as servers can propagate, which brings us to the next observation of the state of memetic warfare: an estimated 90 million false Twitter accounts working to induce the amplification of COVID-19.
"Kathryn Carley, the director of Center for Computational Analysis of Social and Organizational Systems at Carnegie Mellon University recently reported that 82% of the most influential Twitter accounts discussing COVID-19 were actually fake bot accounts. While disturbing in its own right, this is also a milepost we have crossed where information on social media is being propagated by artificial personalities in higher volume than by actual human identities."
what is the world coming to
There were a bunch of QAnon signs too.
