I thought this movie was fairly awful. I'm not a huge Charlie Kaufmann fan, but this film runs along those lines, a type of magic realism I suppose - but I found all the jokes just fell flat and the philosophy is just so amateur and banal.

I can tell that I really don't like something when I feel embarassed while watching it in the cinema. Especially when other people laugh. hmm. I guess some people liked it then, but it made me cringe.

And it trivialises politics.

Isabelle Huppert is quite cool though.

Also, music plays right through the film which I reckon is a really bad idea.

i don't think it trivializes politics at all; it just isn't in the earnest "political film" register. it doesn't think politics is trivial though.
