On Saturday 26th March Urban Nerds are back at XOYO, heading yet deeper into the underground, with a carefully selected line-up of some of London's biggest players at the heart of the grime, garage, dubstep, funky and UK bass evolution!
Crack house pioneer, seminal drum & bass producer and legendary DJ Zinc is joined by grime stalwarts Newham Generals, rising 2-step, garage and dance outfit Hot City, plus mind blowing live dubstep collective Engine-Earz Experiment! The Urban Nerds resident DJ squad Rattus Rattus & Klose One are also on hand with their usual cross-genre mash-up of underground bass bombs!
In room two, Urban Nerds has invited Rinse FM's Marcus Nasty to collate an upfront line-up of underground grime, funky, house and garage of the highest order! Marking a new residency with Urban Nerds in 2011, Marcus has drawn on his unrivaled knowledge of the underground and it's artists, producers and DJs, to bring together some of the scene's hottest talents, representing the full spectrum of distinctly London bred genres.
Marcus himself is undoubtedly one of the pioneers of the UK funky scene, as well as a long time supporter of grime, known by many as the former head of leading crew, N.A.S.T.Y. Joining him at XOYO are fellow Rinse FM selectors and purveyors of grime, DJs Mak 10 and Spyro, plus fire-tongued MC, Lil Nasty. Also behind the decks, legendary garage producer Scott Garcia, the man behind the still hyped old skool anthem 'It's a London thing'! At the other end of the pirate radio spectrum, Dejavu FM's Weeksey and Soulserious Records' Sunday Roast & Jook 10 bring the deeper side of funky, with the underground house killing it on London's airwaves and at underground parties across the Big Smoke!

ZINC | http://www.myspace.com/bingozinc
The Bingo Beats boss, Rinse FM resident and all-round bass brain Zinc has become known for his unique house hybrid, an amalgamation of deep and funky led beats infused with dark jungle and dubstep influenced basslines, blended with tremendous vigor on club anthems like 'Blunt Edge', 'Nu Sound' and the massive Ms Dynamite collaboration, 'Wile Out'. With DJ bookings across the globe, a seminal BBC Radio 1 Essential mix and a truly epic back catalogue that includes UK Garage crossover and scene defining smash, '138 Trek'. After making the rave descend into madness with a high-energy bass fueled set at Urban Nerds' Carnival warm-up in 2009, the mighty Zinc returns on 26th March to blow your minds at XOYO!

NEWHAM GENERALS | http://www.myspace.com/newhamgenerals
The Newham Generals aka D Double E and Footsie are grime scene veterans and are among the most respected underground acts in the UK today, with a career spanning three decades, defined by anthems like 'Frontline' and 'Prangman'. Their notoriety recently saw them collaborate with Breakage (protégé of drum & bass legend Shy FX) to release dubstep banger 'Hard'. Today, as grime MCs soften their music in light of renewed mainstream interest, the Generals stand firm – continually versioning the biggest underground beats and working with some of the biggest and most credible producers in the UK. Now, alongside Rinse FM's DJ Tubby the crew take to XOYO for an incredible live show for Urban Nerds!

HOT CITY | http://www.myspace.com/hotcitybass
Zinc and Newham Generals are joined by Hot City, a dance outfit on the rise, garnering increasing hype for their uncompromising mash-up of 2-step, garage, funky and ravey house led sets that are doing more that a lot to bring those epic UK garage sounds synonymous with the 90s back to dancefloors across the UK and beyond, fused with bubbly US garage sounds and supported by a string of critically acclaimed productions such as 'Yeah'!
"Hot City’s ‘Yeah’ nails the infectious old skool vibe better than most. An Awe-inspiring package" (DJ Mag)

ENGINE-EARZ EXPERIMENT | http://www.myspace.com/engineearz
The Engine Earz bring a highly unique, fresh take on dubstep, with an incredible live show influenced by the likes of Massive Attack, The Prodigy, Rage Against The Machine and Asian Dub Foundation. Merging Asian sounds with mind-blowing sub-low and dubstep bass weight, overlaid with loud guitars and a string of live drums, horns and vocals, the Engine Earz Experiment hit XOYO with a dubstep attack like no other. Prepared to be blown away by the sound that's attracted the likes of The Streets (watch out for them supporting their UK tour), Jenna G, Foreign Beggars, Flux Pavilion and the Mad Decent crew to this one-off bass explosion!
