I don't fight, I run away
My suspicion is he never forgot it.

very likely the case (y)

he also remembered all the games he ever played. One example: he played a simultaneous (somewhere sometime) and years later was introduced to someone (by someone or other), and he said (something like) haven't I met you before and the guy said yes, I played you in a simul (wherever whenever) and Fischer said ah yes, I'll tell you what you did wrong.

i would love to play more chess but it's finding a partner that's the problem.

ai opponents don't really cut the mustard. they take their goes so quickly you don't have the delight of time considering what they may do.
Do you not have any chess clubs in your vicinity? I’ve picked up some great games in the public libraries, as well as public urban parks.
I do know what you mean though if you have time conflicts with that type of Derive.

I've been reading a book about the history of chess. Montaigne is quoted:

"I hate and avoid [chess], because it is not play enough, that it is too grave and serious a diversion, and I am ashamed to lay out as much thought and study upon it as would serve to much better uses."

Sounds like something someone would say after discovering they were rubbish at chess.

The intro to the book talks about Duchamp becoming obsessed with chess and retiring from art to become a chessplayer. The way the book represents it seems to be a little bit bollocks but still an interesting thing WOT i didn't know

Any man that could sign and then hang a fucking urinal on a museum wall can clearly do whatever the fuck he wants
