Normally I'm not a stickler for plots needing to be good in the traditional / formulaic sense, but I got these sense that the plot was heading somewhere while Hall's character was teaching Reilly's character to be a good at working the system, but that it fell apart with the whole motel room incident, which took place several years later as I recall. A plot development out of left field, plus later the revelation about Reilly's father.I liked the stuff in the casino but lost interest as it went along.
Quite a cast. I didn't know Ray Liotta was dead.Make room for "Cocaine Bear", Stan.
Forgot to add Man with a Movie Camera, so Inception got the boot.Anyone else have a favorite 100 list? @version do you have one? I finally just put mine together, probably need to tweak it a bit.
This list is more about personal favorites, rather than what I think would be the top 100 films I've seen, in terms of significance/influence.

Yeah I just recently rewatched that, and it is a bit awkward at times.I was going to ask about Leon recently cos that was one my faves as an edgy youngster for a while and then it totally disappeared off my radar and I never see anyone mention it. Is that cos it features a problematically young natalie portman?
Yeah I still have a tough time making this distinction too: between films I genuinely like and films I respect.I'm trying to do this and it's interesting cos I've realised that I either haven't seen or saw and liked but wouldn't want to bother rewatching a lot of those highbrow BFI picks and the Empire list (which I usually like to think is too middle of the road for my refined tastes) is actually throwing up a lot more films I genuinely like
I can give you my sign-in creds for the criterion channel streaming service if you want. Excellent selection there.I went through a phase when I was younger of trying to tick off all the big arthouse/classic films
Still not seen loads of the recommended ones though
I started watching 'Sunrise' not long ago and I was surprised at how good it was but stopped for whatever reason
This week!

My initial comb through got me 168 candidates, then I had to prune a bunch to get down to 100.Nah, nowhere near. It's too many films to really work, imo. I'd end up scratching my head and arbitrarily sticking in stuff I liked just to get the full hundred.
