This year's Oscars fallout's been properly hostile, lots of ranting and 'takes' on Baker and Anora and Demi Moore not winning for The Substance. It's mostly taken the heat off Brody's speech.

is denzel an idiot? he seems fairly normal. i dont think you do.... i think people like brody are results of dedicating all your life to a craft, becoming successful at it, and therefore just living in your own bubble, which i dont really have a problem with.... he built his life on something hes great at, inoffensive process imo

im going to give anora another shot soon, but it was tamer than his last film, which makes the fallout funny.... i cant imagine giving a shit who sean baker follows on twitter, i also dont think that actually speaks to the guy's worldview, he seems normal in interviews, just makes films on outskirts of society that he observes

I don't think Denzel's an idiot, but, like you say, he's fairly normal. I think you'd struggle to name great actors who seem genuinely intelligent. I'm wondering whether it's the nature of the gift, that you have to be somewhat blank to really inhabit all these different roles.
