Russian dug mixes

Went on holiday to Russia recently. I didn't buy much but my girlfriend who is Russian was able to negotiate better in the shops and picked up a fair few bits. She's put together two mixes for those who might be interested in the stuff you can find in Moscow and Chelyabinsk.
This one is kind of cocktail-jazz kind of stuff and probably won't interest anyone here too much except as a document

This one might be more up the dissensus street, electronic proggy kind of stuff from the seventies and eighties. Mainly stuff from the eighties I'd say but influenced by stuff in the West from a bit earlier.

Mainly Russian and Hungarian I think.
There will be a disco one to follow which features a few other places, Bulgarian at least.

Let's Talk About Ceps
Just listened to the first mix, some really cool stuff there. See what you mean about it sounding very 70s. How popular was this kind of stuff at the time, do you think? Looking forward to hearing more in that vein on Saturday.

As an aside, who else gets really pissed off at the way Mixcloud always goes on to some other mix after the one you actually wanted to listen to? It decided on a whim that after Russian prog rock the next thing we'd want to hear was some John Digweed Ibiza chill-out horsewank, ugh.

Yeah, that always catches me out - you think "Crikey, that's a change of pace" and then you realise you're listening to something totally different. And normally it's not something good, although I suppose the idea is that you'll have some happy accidents.
Anyway, as to how popular this stuff was, no idea but seeing as Liza hoovered it up in a week in Chelyabinsk statistics suggest to me that it's mostly stuff that was fairly readily available which probably means that it met a certain minimum level of popularity.
