Theo Parrish changed my DNA in 2010. Best set I've ever seen.
Sadar Bahar has been fantastic-good both times I've seen him. Like really, really good.
Floating Points has been great, especially at cosmic slop.
Notable mentions: Marcel Dettmann b2b Ben Klock, Mr Scruff, Rahaan, Vakula, Tom Smith, and the DJ in Chester students union (of hollyoaks fame) who was insanely good playing Nicki Minaj and Little Jon.

Funny now to think that a DJ playing garage was a big novelty, esp. For garage ignoramuses like me. On a similar bote, seeing one man playing a set of old dub step tunes at third base. Swear I was about the only person on the floor! Show's how times have changed I suppose. Sounds like I need to see rashad!
Must also shout out Brackles. Absolutely SMASHES every time
I saw him do an afrobeats heavy set the other night and it was beautiful to see people dancing so joyfully, also played "Mr bean" and "in the morning" I felt v emotional.

i was there too! yeah that was a sick set - think Stush - Dollar Sign got about 82 rewinds, mainly because, like you say, probably not that many people had heard it before.
surprised that Oneman hasn't got more mentions. maybe a feeling that he's still too much of newcomer to feature in these sorts of discussions? stupidly talented DJ tho.
I'm gonna say Mala. Every time you see him you know he's gonna draw from his VAST collection of unreleased dubs so there's always a sense of anticipation of like "maybe I'm gonna hear Dun Stinky or Drunken Swagger" etc etc..

basically all of his monthly Essential Garage MOS radio shows have been brilliant since they started about a year ago. all brand new/exclusive stuff ranging from 2step, 4x4, Jackin, bassline, house n bass, grime, with a couple of old school tunes at the end of each hour long show.

i couldn´t honestly pick any single show out, they´re all equally awesome, different from the live sets i´ve heard which are actually quite indebted to EZ´s style (that new boiler room video shows this quite well I think).

Yeah, the BR appearances did open many doors for him and he still does showcase fresh tracks on the kiss fm show, but anytime I saw him live (3 times in the last couple of years), he relied heavily on all the obvious classics. Being so influential and so skilled at the same time, I think he should be pushing new garage a lot more, creating modern era classics rather than rinsing the oldschool ones, i.e. what he used to do back in the day and more recently what he did with the Look Right Through remix. There are many recent tunes that would deserve this status, e.g. Preditah's Let's take it back (vocal version). I've noitced quite a few new school garage producers complaining about big garage djs not supporting the contemporary stuff...

But I remember that one, was run by a friend of mine, DJ Tuco. Think I left as soon as I found out Marcus didn't make it to Prague

Surgeon is just the complete package in a way that few can touch. Everything from programming to working a good system is brilliant. People like Ewan Pearson, Cassy and Weatherall are consistently good. Other stand outs would be Bill Brewster, Carl Craig, John Daly, Prosumer, Floating Points and Brackles. Can't fault people like Josey Rebelle, Alex Nut etc on the radio either. And that Hessle Show with Pearson Sound from earlier in the year.
Still have a good few people to tick of the wishlist, Theo, LV, Francois K and a pile of others.

It's because his selection fell the fuck off. He should've stuck with being the guy who combines dubstep with old-school garage. Once he diversified, he gets too 'hip', and 'in the now'. It's like if Fader or Fact wanted to do a "BEST OF THE YEAR" mix, it'd sound like Oneman's selections, just with less clean mixing.
i agree with the selection comment. dunno about him sticking with that combo tho, wouldnt exactly move things fwd >>> not that this is essential BUT if he was playing the same set now as he was in 2008 it wouldnt be that interesting...
but yes i think (and this has been said here before) the fact that he has always had a broad taste in music and his move to serato have spoilt his sets for me, the comment re; fader or fact is bang on.

i dont think his selection has fallen off - the other night he was playing old billie holiday which caught me off guard, but he still has a superb ear. its just that he plays far, far too broad a range.
I have to admit to being deeply, deeply disappointed with his recent all ambient mix. Probably due to high expectations.

ive never actually seen him live in person, but from listening to recordings of sets, rodigan is one of the best djs.
also, and i might get flack for this, but tim westwood. not cos hes a great dj like oneman is, but he knows how to create a vibe, which is also what being a dj is about.
most of the best djs i can think of are hip hop djs, but thats a diff kind of DJing to surgeon or ben ufo.

Probably the opposite of what he's best at tbf. I think one of my favourite things about him is being still so close to that how-many-ways-you-can-work-a-banging-909 techno arms race. Something very true about the whole thing, no-nonsense without ever being nonsense.

Larry's mixes/remixes alone are enough for anyone to buy into the mythos. Have been playing the fuck out of this for weeks Great sound. Haven't seen Oneman in a while but he killed it whenever I did. Last few years though on radio or Boiler Room might as well have been Anyman. Three tunes about beating prostitutes in 30 minutes etc zzzzzzzzz. He's not the lone offender by any means and presumably it goes down well in the dance but lots of the London DJs have dropped any sort identity for some of most derivative American garbage.
I see a lot of sets over the last two years, not London DJs specifically, but there is this weird thing where people are embracing house while still intent on breeding the rave out of it.
Anyway. Regularly return to this from Mr Thing. Skills. The other old dude on that day was great too but online yet I think. One of the best sets, which I think I mentioned on here at the time was Laurent Fintoni & Sertone in a pub up the road. Jumping between the brainfeeder/dilla end of things to Juke and all in between. Real energy in a, good, ardkore kind of way.
The dubstep thing is kinda weird where the dubplate hype kinda leaves you scratching your head about who were the good DJs. Skream was a huge disappointment every time he turned up in Ireland after 2007 or so. No interest in entertaining people. Mala was always a bit of an event, like someone said above, so I dunno. The Kode9 RA mix from a few months back was the best thing he did in years. The incoherency was kind of his thing and worked for a while but he found a bit more focus on that mix. Peverelist and Kowton well worth seeing together or on their own.

What's petchy like now? He was spectacular for a while (esp with topsee et al). Marcus always seems to come and go as a reference point for ppl on here.
Forgot to mention earlier that both times I saw 2562 he obliterated. Pev too, played a set at freerotation that wowed me - old jungle/hardcore, grime, early dub step.
