just read about this in rip it up last night. essentially described as a song that would be irritating within a fortnight. peel played it for said fortnight. recently came to prominance ( in my house anyway) when it was the first track on a rough trade compliataion given to me by a friend who could no longer bear the hipsters' there goes ... his kids had taken to saying the phrase in random moments at the dinner table - it still raises his hackles and is banned FOREVER!!!
i've always liked it. i guess you could make a strong case for this one that it's MEANT to be irritating, and if one accepts that, then maybe it is less so. ya get me.
i've always liked it's langourous pace. and it's bleeps.
I love it (though not listening to it everyday).
Try Nancy Sesay & the Melodaires' 'C'est Fab' (post-Homosexuals Jim/Amos/L Voag stuff, unfortunately still not reissued, as ALL this stuff, check slsk).
