Part-Time Punks: Are Amateurs Ruining Dance Music?

where do people like machinedrum and the range and all these sort of indie kids (maybe theyre not indie kids, but it does seem like dance music that indie kids can appreciate better than straight ahead versions of the genres theyre working with) who have gotten into dance music fit into all this? i cant tell if it should go into this thread or this one - http://www.dissensus.com/showthread.php?t=10426&page=177&highlight=INDIE+DANCE

Machinedrum actually made IDM for a looong time until he made 'glitch-hop' and then he made fake footwork eventually or something. Its a career path that implies dedicated research which his output doesn't deserve.
