Watching two young women/girls dance to this track on a dance floor in Majorca about 30 years ago is the most profound experience of my life! I never spoke to the women, I just watched them dance in the strobe lights, flashing constantly throughout the track! AMAZING!!! WOW! the pure BEAUTY of the women/girls, the music! The emotion of the moment, just incredible!

I posted this in the COTD thread but it really belongs in here. I started collecting comments for snark's sake but as I read them I almost burst into hot tears.

This song brings many tears to my eyes. I miss the 80s so very much. My whole family was alive and well, I had no worries and just loving life. I'm 51 now and most of my family have passed on and this world is far different than it once was.

Once you lived the 80s you stay there forever.

My mother and father danced to this song every night in my youth. They passed away a day apart from each other. They left me alone, but I listen to this song and I feel them close to me again

I’m 70. I think the 80’ s were my happiest years. I had 3 young children; I was loved, needed, and fulfilled. That sax brings tears to my eyes.

Boy Meets Girl - Waiting for a Star to Fall (1988)

I've noticed a nice creepy subtext to this song "who says I should let a wild one go free?" "that's where you belong in my arms baby yeah"

I guess whitney singing it would hit different from joseph fritzel singing it

"I've learned to feel what I cannot see
But with you I lose that vision"

What does that mean?

I know this looks like one girl multiplied using video tricks, but it's not. There are actually 5 different dancers wearing the same outfits and wigs. You can tell by seeing that the "main" girl has a mole on her upper right chest, and none of the other four have that mole.

Yes, multiplication is used in parts, but it's not THAT severe. Just five times hotter.

I had an anthropology professor in 2011 say "Today we are going to listen to a song that depicts the how those struggling on the fringe of society might possibly operate outside normally accepted societal means to survive." I immediately asked "Is it Dead Prez's 'Hell Yeah'?" and the look on her face when she paused and said "....Yes" is still with me to this day. Needless to say I was the only one in class rapping along. Dr Amason, hope you're doing well.

I like when most people think of "struggling on the fringe of society might possibly operate outside normally accepted societal means to survive." people always think of shit like that.
Forget, for example, the mentally disabled.
At least you have some skills, "dead prez".
Come at me, dead prez and tell me how hard you've had it, when you've only been able to sink in every situation because people assumed you should be able to do everything like everyone else.

so street, so cool, so tough...
