WYH If I found your dog, in the cold snow, wandering around alone, I would let it in, and I would feed it, and I would let it sit by the fire. I'd let it stay until spring came, and it was warm again. And if it wanted to come back to the house, I'd throw it biscuits from the veranda, or come play with it on the lawn.
