So when's our floor replacement work scheduled for?

I get the psychological appeal of a disruption such as Brexit or Trump "ripping off the facade" or however you want to phrase it, but that only becomes a good thing if there's a decent chance of it actually leading to some great revolutionary change. Because the alternative is simply everything getting steadily worse and worse with no end in sight.

This is the thing though. Who's going to willingly do that? Look at the British housing market. No government is going to go near it unless it collapses and they're forced to. Everyone just keeps things ticking over and prays it doesn't fall apart on their watch.

true. but I don't recall any "blow shit up" approaches that actually made anything better, so not much of a track record there either.

Seems weird that there are people who are prepared to anvil the floor and completely destroy it in one go... but not have a crack at fixing it without destroying it first.

The people in a position to have a crack at fixing it and the people wanting to anvil it are two different groups.
