I'm puzzled

we have a "team meeting" once a week where we chat shit and the KLF were mentioned and a guy who used to "spin house" said the Weatherall Mix of Grim Up North is a killer tune, "it will destroy a room", and this was a couple of weeks ago, yet I do not have any recollection from the time ( probably due to the diet mentioned a couple of posts above ) and the internet does not know, I can find no mention of it, was he privy to an exclusive test pressing?

does this mix even exist?

was he imagining it?

MUSICOLIGISTS! err, ahem @wektor

"dancing in the rain" and "grim up north" are both basically the same( KLF ? JAMS ) tune?

PURE TRANCE 1989!

edit: can I can mix"KIRBY LEIGH" into "DANCING NAKED IN THE RAIN" and then back into "GRIMBSY GLOSSOP HEBDIN BRIDGE" etc with no pitch adjustment??? ( answer is no, I can't mix for shit, but this is theoretical )

going by what has been posted on youtube, there is about 9.39bpm difference
Rain would need to be pitched up by 3.9 percent and the it's Grim pitch down by about 3.9 if you wanted them to meet in the middle.

@0bleak what if I want to "dance naked in the rain , it's grim north" with the Jimmy Cauty KLF PURE TRANCE mix?

I own multiple vinyl copies of this tune, a guilty pleasure

^sloppy language though
meeting in the middle would be half 9.39 applied to the lower bpm, the Rain track, or half of 9.39 taken away from the higher bpm, the Grim track = 119.305
when you subtract the higher bpm at minus 3.9 percent it's still doing more of the "work" to meet the lower bpm record's tempo at its plus 3.9 percent which gives the meeting place of ~119.43bpm, instead of 119.305 so not exactly "in the middle"
the in the middle tempo of 119.305bpm would be rain at +3.8 and grim at -4.0
I mean, not that it really matters... it's just preference, but I don't like that I was so sloppy with my language

I've complicated matters by introducing Kraftwerk. ^

If you're adding that to the mix with the other two records where they meet in the middle at 119.305 (Rain at +3.8, Grim at -4.0) then that would need to be at -1.8
if you're meeting at 119.43 so that Rain is +3.9 and Grim is at -3.9 then it needs to be at -1.7

of course none of this takes into account the keys and changing pitch, if that's a concern

If you mean the "new age mix" there is about a 15 bpm difference between the two - the kraftwerk fk at minus 6 and the rain new at plus 6.1

nah, I was dropping the Jimmy Cauty KLF PURE TRANCE MIX in there

Blue Pearl - Dancing Naked In The rain ( Jimmy Cauty PURE TRANCE MIX )

at 3 minutes there is some huff and puff sounds you can blend into the Kraftwerk out of breath cyclist

obviously this is why I'm not an International known DJ, my mixes are total car crashes /train wrecks, I jam tunes together like a square peg into a round hole. I will bang you about the head with hard beats whether they be in time or not

centrism is of course it's own form of whiteboy indie rocker charm. centrists in general probably have a good time in bed, simply because they are easily impressed.

Lionrock - Tripwire (Exploding Plastic Reconstruction)

Some fairly avant-trance (?) from David Holmes in 1994.

Def not centrist this one

it's actually bassxpansion - meet my modem, Orange theme is first track of cd2.

Bit divided on that comp, could definitely be more purist techno. luckily that was the era when trance hadn't fully initiated divorce proceedings so was played with proper tech.
