Just been reading back through this thread and having a sad corpsey-esque nostalgia moment for what was probably the very last time I was ever deeply engaged in music.

Probably not a coincidence that I packed in smoking weed round about the same time I lost interest in music.

25 million views, but I recognise that riddim from aaages ago back from when I was making an effort to keep up with it. Seems like dancehall hasn't moved on much the last couple of years.

Great tune though, has to be said

The riddim is Dutty Money Riddim by Rvssian, which is a remake of his Go-Go Club Riddim from 2009, so that's probably where you recognise it from.

That was from the start of the year when it was looking like dancehall might descend into a nostalgia fest, although it seems to have ultimately swerved away from that temptation.

Big fan of Rifle Behavior Riddim which that Ikation tune is on. I think Kraff's is the best version but I also like the ones from Pablo YG, Valiant, Jahvillani. Prod.by.carter has made a few other good riddims although I'd have to look up the names - definitely leaning almost into straight-up hip-hop territory at times but also not quite, keeping them interesting.

On the drill meets dancehall front, Juta Riddim seems to have got kinda big.

Just got through listening to that riddim mix, absolutely amazing. Best way to listen to dancehall nowadays, just zone out for 20 minutes on one riddim.
