And let's talk about a really underrated record, Young Free Radical - Slipstream from London Bengali producer Kingsuk Biswas aka Bedouin Ascent. Like UR meets moving shadow in '93. Proper afro-asian hightech funk. Edits in this are insane for the time. His album Music for Particles also well worth grabbing, shuffling jazz influenced drum machine programming with very slick and icey synth lines, like proto-broken beat, but so much more...

I know we're not supposed to post bleep and bass, though tbf I'm very tempted to break that rule cos there is an astounding lack of knowledge of that for the stalkers who read this forum, but here is forgemasters doing post-bleep in 91, prefiguring the likes of Basic Channel by 2 years, and german producers like Trentemoller by about 15.

This is dub as technique, rather than dub as a sound to copy, which I never quite clicked with when the post-punks did it.

This gives me the feeling that something like EZ Rollers - Rolled into one gives me. That perfect balance between machines and sophisticated 90s classiness. It was rarely done right, but when it was, it continues to hit different.

the black dog was something like a religious cult for me between 1992-95

the twelve inches were almost always spellbinding.

breaking the big woe's bleep rule to post this, everyone knows dissonance from this ep which is superb but this one is equally as good and gets overlooked. loping techno. that bassline will give you dub fever.



Sampled on this 93 darkside obscurity, not officially released until 2019, still doesn't sound as good as the dubplate ratty had of it on his the edge pack sp 1 tape.
