Hi All,
I'm working on a project which involves compiling Spotify playlists of the dubstep/bass music/"breakbeat continuum"-ish music from 2009, by month, and I'm wondering if there are any resources we're missing that would make the job easier. Some things we've tried:
1) thinking about it and googling our fave artists - we were both listening to a lot of it at the time
2) looking at yearly best-ofs and dj charts at the time: Bleep, Juno, Boomkat, Pitchfork, whatever.
In practice it means a lot of Untold/Hot Flush/James Blake, which is fine, they're great, but it's not the full picture. Also it's often hard to know what month things were released.
What would be ideal would be weekly New Release newsletters from Bleep, Juno (just the dubstep-related sections), Boomkat or the like and we could just go through all 52 weeks in a few hours, like the nerds that we are.
Does anybody have any suggestions for finding this kind of info? Sadly I've long since deleted those emails from my inbox....
Thanks!
Matthew
