seen the intro to Master and Commando and clips on here with stills, eg the cast are now v familiar - Big Russ always with a trace of Oz, the brevity of its officer class, a violin scene or scenes, down through the ranks, booze and I think a youngster loses an arm somehow valiantly
funny what seeps out and seeds its 'lads on a boat taking on the French and dying/sacrificing wellbeing honourably through the filter/worldview of empire' schtick but, and it's a significant but, there's something about Paul Bettany which is never convincing as a screen presence, just a vacuous shadow line of a male fitting a blonde, English, can maybe do an accent put a tache on him see if he can wing it profile

to qualify such criticism, another work cited is the imaginatively titled "Priest", one of the most deplorable films ever assembled, forced on me one night shift by an obstinate colleague as we alternated weekly choices available
could be added to the 21st century films thread under the banner of "never ever ever watch and campaign to delete the master copies until your last living second on Earth" - beyond even dire, like an audio-visual equivalent of sellotape ridden soapbar or fluffy slate making your brain cough
clearly no-one in this production ever heard wanking noises coming from behind the other side of a confessional booth as perverts were regaled over apparent sins

my teenage years, lol. ( this is one of usual lies, I didn't actually encounter snide draw until some smackhead in Bootle ripped a housemate off, and at that moment in time I had just turned 20, before then I was getting the finest Red and Blonde and opiated black, etc., )
