It's complicated.

In the UK at least that stuff got played in the same dj sets as the harder hardcore/embrionic jungle.

I like my piano hardcore with a bit of grit.

There was a real fork in the road circa 1993, where things split three ways. before that they all got played together in varying ratios.

I like it when it's really mental sample collage music. that's when the potential of the chipmunks etc gets really unlocked.

what I love about that era of 91-92 hardcore at its best is just how schizophrenic it is. rushing argos korg m1 pianos then into some tear out roland alpha juno hoovers. as someone with god knows what undiagnosed mood disorders (living in london innit bruv!) it is like the music I always wanted and the music I have always needed.

it might be that the psychosis in the united states is different to the psychosis in London.

in the UK the psychosis is very manic because you can't just leave the hospital before 28 days, otherwise the police can lock you up again.

this was the tape i caned during my last psychotic episode.
