you know your weird feud is because both of you got your wires crossed over something someone else said/ posted? It's painful to watch

when I win the lottery I'll invite you all to my red-light strobe lit basement with ceramic tiles for max snort action and we can all be friends while I pummel you with heavy dub steppers techno electro funky house breaks

It was purely his error. But yes, it is certainly stupid. Snort action to heavily dub steppers sounds petty great, though.

I have a vision of a FUNKTION ONE sound system in a narrow low ceiling basement, any tables have ceramic surfaces for easy chop action, red light. smoke machine, strobes

I also did another one with the same tune last night, but adding breakbeats from a couple of tracks

this was on about the 4th floor of a block with no lifts

there were two guys with crates of beer who had to deliver to the same floor as we were heading, I do not envy them, I was out of breath when I took this photo

this is the "ROCK-A-SHACKA' shop, the "pure vibes" direct competition against the "strictly business no atmosphere" dub store in Tokyo

let's just say next year me and the love of my life are spending two weeks in Osaka

Osaka is ilke Manchester as Tokyo is to London.

ordered from that tokyo dub store a few times, but it looks like rock a shaka also has an online shop - of course not near the same experience as "in person"
did i ever tell the story about the weird american customs agent that I encountered on the way back from a trip there, and how he acted like it was weird and suspicious that I had bag full of "underground music" from shopping over there?

no, but as a victim of "border control" I'd like to hear more

I'll have to say that Dub Store Tokyo gave me a sticker but we visited ROCK-A_SHACKA in OSAKA on a Monday afternoon which isn't the optimal time for any record shop to be honest, so both were lacking in the PURE FYAHH VIBEs

we had more energy in some random record shop in Dresden when they plonked on an ECHO LTD 12 inch on a Wednesday afternoon?



AND we were bouncing around, one of the few times I've asked 'what is this" and "can I buy it" and now I own every ECHO LTD release

and months later I got weirdly confessional about this tune due to my imaginary precognition

I was carrying a rather large bag of stuff through the airport there (records I didn't trust leaving in a suitcase), and this american customs agent stops us to ask what was in the bag - I just thought it would be quick and convenient just to say "underground music" instead of telling a story about how i went record shopping at a bunch of stores all over the place and picked up a varied assortment of things, like, ya know, all kinds of electronic, experimental, noise, etc.
anyway, upon, reflection, I probably just simply should have just said "music" instead of trying to be even a tiny bit explanatory, because he repeated back questioning me several times, each time with a louder voice, "underground?! "Underground?!!" "UNDERGROUND??!!!!" and stepped back a little each time, and then he had to do a search of my bag while acting all weird like as if I was bringing back something dangerous - I mean, this is just while we're walking through the airport there, not a regular customs office or anything
I've also had weird encounters with Japanese customs there while trying to bring my brother some VHS tapes of basketball games. - VERY suspicious, VERY inquisitive (or maybe "hoping" that it was porn they could keep for themselves - I mean, you know how it is with blurry bits over there).

I( have no idea about "blurry"


but when I landed in Chicago I was puzzled by the border control guy asking "how did you enjoy your last visit?" and I'm like "this is the first time I've been in the USA" and then I realised my MOTHER has lied to me and we are NOT staying in the HILTON and is the first time she has lied? has my whole life been a sham? who am I?
