people on the internet keep going on about it. is this something that we need to worry about. will the resident nazis shit up this thread if we try to talk about it.

in the international humanitarian business from what i can see basically no-one actually doing it seems to mention the idea or be aware of it, but some of the academics involved in studying humanitarian / development aid talk about it quite a lot

I was wondering about decolonising culture today, because in India it means removing British influences - which makes sense - but in Britain it also means removing British influences. This doesn't make sense, because we didn't colonise ourselves.

In other words, decolonising means denationalising here but renationalising elsewhere.

I think the aim is to eliminate all traces of the empire including Britain itself so that Britain becomes colonised by the places it previously colonised, thereby exacting revenge rather than just resetting to a pre-colonial time.
