Sometimes you're better off dead.
OK that's Nick Cave aint it?I don't believe in an interventionist God
this one made me smile when i first heard it... the disinterested-yet-mildly-exasperated rhetorically-questioning rebuttal of the (presumably online) unheard accusation that he's homophobic, followed by the knowingly-provocative misogynistic term of endearment to describe his gay girlfriend as evidence to support the rebuttal... it's a wild ride in 8 words. the rest of the song is massively forgettable.how can i be homophobic? my bitch is gay
OK that's Nick Cave aint it?
I should have probably put some criteria about how you should say why the lines are good... like that Mondays one I started with is so fucking disrespectful and sleazy that it just stands out to me.... but let's see some justification from you lot now.
Yeah that's a good description I'd say, it's really an ungainly and strange line and that's what sort of ends up making it good.yeah. and it's followed by "but I know darlin that you do"
again, it made me smile when i first heard it because it's so unpoetic and yet disarmingly grandiose and the delivery makes it seem sleazy, like 'darlin' has risked offending her god by being with him, or something like that.
