I was tbf engaging in a rhetorical game, trying to push the idea of industrial, lab produced factory techno to its ultimate logical limit. Whilst I obviously don't fully endorse everything I wrote upthread as actual practice, I do think scenes do inhibit collective art production. This is the reason why I have abandoned keeping tabs on the techno scene. It's all very 20th century. 2020s techno, European techno (but even detroit is fairly complacent these days) is Almost like the ghost of Italian futurism which is ironic for an art form derived from black american society. I think if music is to evolve it has to evolve in process.

there is a real anti-baroque quality to a lot of early techno, anti-baroque romanticism. and even a lot of the 90s stuff (not so much belgium granted.) minniturised tiks, clicks, wooshes, whirls. joysticks, push button objects (to name an IDM alias.) The assembly line. We call it machine funk, but that's what it is. collective labour.
Now you get a lot of that stuff oday in mutant offshoots, a lot of stuff you play in your mixes. But techno purism is ironically the least techno thing ever.

im glad you asked, i was thinking how to promote the woopsluka continuum the plan i came up with was to invite all the "rival poets" to a fancy literary gathering, when they all assembled we'd announce from the stage
"ladies and gents we expect that you're wondering why we have invited you here tonight..." meanwhile an accomplice bolts the exit door and we dramatically unveil from under a drape in the corner
i looked into renting one and it was not too dear, but it would have been logistically tricky to get it up the stairs at the old kings head

another one i thought of involved staging a rescue from the river by the globe - fake someone leaping from the wobbly bridge by creating a great big splash in the river somehow, and then the poets appear by the riverside escorting a sodden person... "look they saved a suicidal tory mp" was gonna be the line

it would require some cunning diversionary tactics but noone pays any attention to anything anyway, so it wd probably work,
