I dunno in UK if any of our rightist colleagues here would say they have gone REFORM already I think not, (or AFP, Meloni, Le pen etc ... other Euro equivalents)

But Reform are not in the same position of power that created the tipping point for Nazism and Trumpism
So the distastefulness of Farage and others on the right in UK, their rank populism and anti intellectualism is not yet outweighed by pragmatism

Who would bend to the populist current

I’ve read/heard Chomsky most notably, but many others warn of the same in any ‘free’ society. It is a real concern. Most hurt people are willing to hurt others if only to symbolically aleve their misery in the short term.

I've been wondering whether Starmer will eventually decide he can't win over a majority of Reform voters. He keeps trying to offer them what they claim to want then they just invent another reason to remain critical. I'm not sure policy can cut through whatever's going on with them.

One of the lines I keep seeing re: Farage is that the media treat him like a celebrity or commentator rather than a politician, so he doesn't receive the kind of scrutiny a candidate should and is rarely challenged and probed on policy.

But also Fartage does not appeal to posh people or highfaluting right theorists

I dont think anyone has ever admitted supporting him on here

Hopefully his tipping point will never occur

highfalutin right theorists

Are there many of those around? That might be an interesting thread. Sometimes wonder whether Yarvin gets the attention he does because he's the only one there is to really talk about.

They've existed in the past - Evola, Schmitt, Spengler, etc. A lot of them were still cranks and what have you, but they were several steps above the Petersons and Yarvins that have replaced them.
