Paris recommendations

I'll be in Paris this Saturday & Sunday, staying in huge hotel in the Porte de Clichy area, which I'll be keen not to spend much time in. It's years since I've been to Paris - what's hot and what's not ces jours?

Try Batofar or Rex for techno-y stuff; Elysee Montmartre can be fun on Saturdays too. Fleche d'Or in the vingtieme is good for band then dj nights.

I'm going to be in Paris from the 27th to October 1 ... anything of interest going on? Also, any recommendations for shopping (other than the big used vinyl showcase on the other thread) would be appreciated much. I'm particularly looking for African stuff, not on vinyl preferably. Somewhere selling much kwaito would be best of all. Grime shops are also of interest, of course.
