i know personally, and i have friends who will attest to this, that myspace is a great tool for writers who need other writers (not tutors, critics, etc.) to interpret/edit their work. i guess the same applies to musicians and other cultural production machines.

i got rid of mine i just thought there are about 3 people who contact me and in the time i waste chatting to em on it i could go round and see them.
plus you can hear the music anyway i don't really want my attention hijacked by something thats ultimatley for me is a lesson in inefficient time management and communication.
