Best uplifting jungle d&b compilations/mixes?

I'm craving for this kind of sound, warm synth washes, frenetic but smooth breaks, and maybe female vocal snippets. Anything released between 93 and 97 will do. Cheers!

Counterforce on React is probably the best compilation in that style, and LTJ Bukem's Fantazia studio mix that came in a triple pack with mixes from Rap and Grooverider is pretty much the greatest hour of jungle I know of. If you happen to find the fantazia mix on mp3 anywhere, give us a shout.

Thanks! But I should have added a "non-jazzy" mention in my requirements. Maybe that's some earlier shit that I really need, the E stuff (and sort of lo-fi) more than the spliff stuff, yet not ardkore though. Anyway, cheers again, maybe the style I'm looking for is just a fantasy based on mixtapes I used to play on my cheap walkman.

i remember the "artcore" series on react being pretty decent, although i haven't heard them in ages.

question: i've never owned any bukem cds, anyone care to explain the differences in the different series ("logical progressions," "earth", etc.) and recommend a few of the best? could be mixes or solo cds, whatever.

for some reason i really wasn't interested in this stuff at the time but now i have a bit of a hankering...

Loved that mix Naphta... always been my favorite kind of jungle, that dark and light sound. Like a bittersweet, swan-song for the modernist dream as it reaches it's culmination. You can almost see the last spark of hope floating out beyond our grasp into the night sky and winking out.

Yeah, that period where Lucky Spin, Rugged, Dee Jay, Movin' Shadow etc hit that real sweet spot was great. Pre "jazz"... more techno style synths/chords etc. Sophisticated and deep yet still raw. All about the vibes.

Used to double the Quickening remix with the (superior) original - magic to mix with.

Sand through the hourglass, huh? Most of it seems so dated to me now...

Anyone got any good 92-93 mixes? I'm thinking the era of tracks like Dubplate by Wots My Code, when hardcore was just becoming jungle, and people were just beginning to mutter that the Roller Express in Edmonton was getting "moody."
