and one of the baddies is a peado in a dirty mac which hammers home the reality of existing in the reality of modern days society. and then the ending is a bit like the wicket Man innit which hammers home the reality of living in a haunto logical contemporary folk horror society.

Something like that. It's always pleasantly blood curdling when somebody apparently nice is revealed to be evil in a horror film.
