Morvern Callar
one I do not own, but I have sometimes thought of buying:
the Morvern Callar soundtrack.
read the book (so much better than "High Fidelity"), seen the movie, no T-shirt, no soundtrack.
But it looks rather good, probably a bit too chilled out.
When I read the book I was always wondering if all the music mentioned
in the book was real.
I have just looked up Ronald Shannon Jackson and he seems real enough.
He sounds like he could have played with the Bowie brothers (Defunkt and Art Ensemble of Chicago).
I still suspect that Alan Warner made up some of the bands&names -
someone with vast knowledge/internet access and legions of time could go through the book
- there's thesis material in there.
