Grievous Angel Presents 4x4Heaven: a mix of classic vocal garage

Grievous Angel

Beast of Burden
What with it being both the party season and time for a resurgence in funky house and garage, I felt compelled to do a mix of classic 4x4 UK garage.

It's only short - about 40 minutes - but if you need a bit of peak time hands in the air big vocal action over Yule and New Year, this might well hit the spot.

Dixie Peach - Gwaan (Mr Bumpy Dub Mix). JTS Studio 2002
El Tuff Project: Drive Me Crazy. Qualifide 2003
Robbie Craig: Searching (Krush Groove Remix). Public Demand 1999
Victor Romero - Love Will Find A Way (Ray Hurley, Scott Garcia & Mark Yardley Full Vocal Mix). Public Demand 1998
Lavonz Vs Deneshae: Personality (Original Lavonz Vocal Mix). Locked On 2001
Wideboys: Move It Down (4x4 mix). Garage Jams 2002
Sound of One: As I Am (Crazy Bank Mix). Locked On 1998
Julia Roberts: Free Love (98 Bumpy Sunday Mix). Delirious 1997
East 17: Betcha Can't Wait (Sunship Remix). Telstar 1997
Wideboys: Get On Up (4x4). Garage Jams 2002

It starts off dubby, then rapidly goes into some very, very big vocal tunes. The E17 one is just fantastic.

It should be up at http://www.grievousangel.net/GA-mp3s/4x4heaven.mp3 any minute now.

Have a good one

Paul

Blimey, you lot are quick!

I may be going to the UKD party - primarily motivated by seeing your slot! - but I have a busy January and February so we'll have to see...

Soon come - the successor to Abstract 2step, 60 minutes of concentrated deep, dark 2step garage, which will come out as part of the Blogariddims series.

And... a double album of ragga techno and maximalist dubstep in early 2008.

Looks cool - presumably you know that JTS studio is Jah Tubbys and Dixie Peach is a vocalist from their soundsystem?

Cos I'd never heard of the record before now...

It's a real pisser that Tubbys won't talk about his work! Legend...

Jesus!!!!! No I didn't, that's amazing! Totally reinforces the lineage from UK reggae to garage (to dubstep and grime) in a way that I was utterly unprepared for. Amazing!

yep, can't wait for your album. i think what you've been involved with this year has been excellent, wicked to see you throw yourself into producing, djing, writing, record labels, reaching out to great artists. hope it goes into the stratosphere next year on every front! i hope to do the same, got a new music project in the pipeline, should be launching the site soon.

btw re. ukd 15th birthday can't decide to do a traktor set or a vinyl one. i am more comfortable with vinyl but doing an mp3 set means i have access to many, many more tracks.
