what did you like about it?
I hadn't seen that kind of tableau vivant aesthetic before, so that coupled with the esoteric and spiritual subject matter pretty much had me mesmerized the whole time. For what ratings are worth, which for me are mostly about how impressive I find a film to be, this is one of the five films, out of thw ~1970 or so I've seen, which I;ve given five stars, the other four being The Passion of Joan of Arc, The Long Day Closes, Man with a Movie Camera, and Loving Vincent.

Those five films for me, experientially, start to transcend film as a medium (well Loving Vincent less so, that one is just a staggering feat of artistry I think).

Man with a Movie Camera was 1940 or something wasn't it?

Yeah I meant to write 1930 then... it's actually 1929 apparently, but I thought you were saying it was from the seventies.
