My top track of FWD was Oddz - Bump Diss that Brackles played, is that wrong?! Was not the normal mix as I recall though. He mixed into it from Rat Race, Blue Rizla, Shanghai Beef or some other Danny Weed/Wiley production I think...

Massive, massive tune...so simple. Strung up also good.

Oneman played it at the July DMZ and it was also my top tune then ha.

Oddz has now tuned to Islam and stopped making tunes (if RWD or wherever it was I read it is to be believed).

I didn't really enjoy D1's hard pounding stuff that much really...and i thought the whole night the mids and tops were too high, they were for Marcus too imo.

Yes they do sound a little harsher, can be a bit more brash and metallic at times. I love the bass hit in there, just feel the top end could be toned down a bit.

viktor those 20mins of grime instros brackles played were fucking riotous. was champion ho in there somewhere too? it's a bit of a blur now..

dunno about that.... Marcus Nasty's set was exclusively off CD and Kode played nuff CDs aswell.. and those were the sets that left me with some ear damage.

yeah like i say i can't really remember.. all i know is there were four or five tunes lifted straight from my 'insanely good early grime instros' playlist on my itunes.. and they all sounded just that little bit better than they do through my bedroom speakers :)

True. I can imagine going to some shit party instead though maybe I'll go to FWD on my own and then trundle along to the shit party afterwards.

Slimzee Spyro Kode and Marcus I would pay 20 quid for anyway lol

I think it's also about how the CD is mastered. Maybe CD needs different mastering to avoid that harshness and metallic sound. You might never get that vinyl warmth, but sure you can do something.

you can get hardware that 'warms up' cds as well, gives it a level of analogue feel.
