    Funky/London/UK House

ha ha, I'm featured in that dvd. DJ NG, Tadow/Producer Mario (Hornz) and Apple had the biggest UK funky tunes in summer 2007 -- Crazy Cuzzies didn't make their mark until the winter and ran with it in 2008. Old skool funky is really a mash up of deep house - Quentin Harris 'Traveling' - Fish...

    Funky/London/UK House

that might be 'cos it heavily 'borrows' the instrumental of Suges - We Belong To The Night http://www.discogs.com/artist/Suges - with added bassline for a splash of UK Funkiness. 'We Belong..' was already getting plays in UK Funky raves but Donaeo's version has since eclipsed it's popularity.

    Funky/London/UK House

you can start with the Karizma track; it is called 'Twyst This' and can be downloaded from Traxsource - an amazing tune. As he's from the states, I'll say he is the Todd Edwards of UK Funky.

Kenny Dope & Terry Hunter Present Mass Destruction - Monopoly (Kenny Dope Remix) I kind of hope you haven't heard Kenny Dope's remix before... because I refuse to believe any one that has can give Malice's 'refix' any acclaim.

The most you ever spent on one record

Last year I spent 27 quid on a mint condition New Horizons - Sweet Release EP - just for the B Side tracks. As a teen I always loved Find The Path and It's My House is my favourite UKG track of all time - I can't explain the joy I feel watching the label as I play it. Just checked i guess it's...

    Funky/London/UK House

You are right about the expansion - I like DJs that can play different disciplines of House ranging from Minimal and Deep House to UK Funky and Experimental (Karizma!!), to even Tribal or traditional Garage - one funky nation under a groove. However, imo forums like this, Ilx and bloggers...

    Funky/London/UK House

...but a lot of the US records are actually more like Garage (in the traditional sense - as in Bobby and Steve 'Garage City' vibes). Producers like Masters Of Work (Kenny Dope's Mix of Nitelife for example), Dennis Ferrer (particularly Church Lady etc.), Ron Hall & Muthafunkaz (The Way You Love...

    Funky/London/UK House

should we call it Funky Garage... A lot of people are confused as to why this genre is called Funky House when it is far from the swanky bar sound (a la early Hed Kandi) and the awful lowest common denominator cheese found on new Hed Kandi compilations. I think Funky Garage - shows this...

    Funky/London/UK House

Can I just say that part of the Funky House appeal a couple of years ago was that it was an attempt to bring back the sexy old skool UKG days with an almost rare groove approach to DJing i.e. anything goes - in this case anything from Broken Beat (Bugz, King Brit), Tribal/afro (DJ Greogory...
