Always thought of bassline in the same way I think about wobble tunes: really effective in a set at the right moment if done right, but completely unendurable to listen to a whole set of. That and this stuff really just sounds like reheated Dexplicit tunes.

lost touch with bassline since around 2008 or so though so have no idea what its like now. though it seems to be exactly the same lol.

i should try and find some new mixes.

you have to immerse yourself in it to get over the "it all sounds the same" thing.

i haven't been following it so closely over the last year either due to all the new developments in grime and funky but I'm back on it now.

i'm searching out all the current mixes at the moment and will post them here and on my blog.

i was a bit dissapointed with the bassline/funky show marcus nasty did a while back - i only caught a little but i thought it wd be it all mixed together rather than segments for each. plus the bassline mc didnt mesh with rankins style at all. gonna check the pantha mix today.
